Anyone who doesn't get the "Because Race Car" meme is just going to think that is a really sh1t title

Photo is really good though & nice for you guys to have pretty much the entire front cover, good advertising etc.   It will be referred to as the Forge Mk1 issue of PVW when people look back.

Mk1 went on a little road trip....she's been running for a while now but we need it setup properly on a dyno, so off she went to Thor Racing in Coventry a few weeks ago with outstanding figures.
Here's a couple of pics

Few fine tweaks from the boys at Powerstation last week before testing at combe.

Got a few laps in before the driveshaft snapped.

We have a company called Brand Mechanical make us some custom ones.
we are just waiting for some spare time to put them in and then back out for more testing.

So this is just a show-off piece then?

Never going to compete?

Oh, if it does, you'll be in the engine bay with a saw.  Someone else who's done a Golf1 with precisely those tubes off the front of the struts took it out for the first time and they posted this:

Quote
The bars welded in going from strut top to chassis legs were also a problem. In order to race they had to come out. 1 hr later, Craig and I are going at the MK1 with a powersaw to remove them. It was a massive low point and slightly emotional but it needed to be on the grid. So they were cut.

Show car, NOT race car.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

It's a nice enough car, it just strikes me as odd that people build cars outside of regs.  :undecided:

So the figures are?

The PR that goes with this car is a bit like this:

We have painted the car/ made some styling change, but won't show it to you... yet

We have BIG BHP, but won't tell you what the figures are

We are going racing, but won't tell you where

Our driveshaft snapped (while running road tyres, even though standard driveshafts are ok on other 1.8T Mk1s that use slicks) so we are making some super custom shafts that can cope with our BIG secret figures
