DRL's and rear lights
« on: 29 June 2013, 17:30 »
Can't say I've ever noticed before but my car has Xenons so they are always on as they act as DRL's as well (Non-LED) but my rear lights are on all the time as well.

Are the rear lights supposed to be on with DRL's?

Is it possible to turn them off and is it a VAG COM job?

Early non LED xenons are on dip beam as DRL's along with the tail lights, just like the Scirroco and Polo. It may possible to code it so that the tail lights don't come on, but the chances are that as your car has no specific DRL (like the halogen cars, the .:R or later xenons with LED's) it won't give you that option.

Can you turn them off completely using the indicator down, pull to flash and turn the ignition on and off (or whatever the procedure is)?
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
