Fault code 01314 Please look and advise :S
« on: 28 January 2013, 18:18 »
Right following on from my last topic with the erratic idle/loss of power etc

 http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=247350.0

the car is a 2003 Golf GTI AUQ 180 with an R-tech Stage 2 live custom remap

If I unplugged the maf the car ran alot smoother but just underpowered. so Ive just gone an brought a new maf from VW and it hasnt made a wanks worth of difference exactly as lumpy and boggy as before

SO Ive just scanned my car and I have the following fault code 01314 which wasnt there last time and I cant physically delete it  :lipsrsealed:

Copied of Ross tech

01314 - Engine Control Module

01314 - Engine Control Module: No Communications

Possible Causes
CAN-Databus Wiring/Connectors from/to Engine Control Module faulty
Fault(s) stored in Engine Control Module
Engine Control Module recently flashed or re-mapped

Possible Solutions
Check CAN-Databus Wiring/Connectors from/to Engine Control Module
Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) Usually Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 125+ show the current Communication Status

01314 - Engine Control Module: Check DTC Memory

Possible Causes
Fault(s) stored in Engine Control Module

Possible Solutions
Check Engine Control Module for Fault Codes

Special Notes
Engine Control Module stored a Code which influences other Control Modules Functionality.
To clear this Fault Code you will need to correct the Problem in the Engine Control Module first.

What the hell does this mean It sounds quite serious and expensive ?

please advise

sounds like your ECU mate, has this happened recently or has the map been changed recently?

These ECUs are not common to go
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

have you physically looked at the ECU to see if it 'looks ok' and no wires damaged/wet

be VERY careful when you take the scuttle off because people have smashed/cracked their windscreen trying to get to the ECU
