Title: Tailgate lock actuator not working
Post by: jgrfn on 05 October 2017, 10:03
Hi,

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the boot lock actuator and release switch on a golf mk5 please? Or at least what voltages I should expect to see at the 4-pin plug and switch, normally and when the release switch is pulled?

Right now, the boot will not unlatch with the switch, it has to be manually unlocked from inside. The boot appears closed on the dashboard, so the sensor seems to be working. I have tried a different actuator from ebay and still nothing.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Joe

I can't help with the diagram but I had this same issue a couple of years ago and the end result was that the loom needed to be replaced. At the time there were no looms available new and trying to source one second hand was impossible so I got a local garage to find the broken wire and solder it up.

Due to other issues recently with the high level LED unit I have just had the loom changed - in the region of £200 fitted :-(

Seems like they can get stretched and pull when opening and closing the boot!

I also had the same issue and resulted in the same outcome as WolfsburgEd, the whole loom needed to be replaced.
