GTI Turbo misfire issues
« on: 23 September 2010, 20:46 »
Hi people

New member here problems with my car, basically change plugs etc due to misfire not solved, bought new coil tried each one not solved.

Took car into garage today showing cylinder 3 missing just wondering if this could be the igniton amplifier module at fault?

As I have been reading and the garage can't find out and are saying it may need full re wire and ecu.

Any help or advice appreciated.

A full rewire is a little extreme! Take it to a VW specialist mate. What is the engine code?

I would for sure! it is a 5min job to fit!

You can get one here :

Not sure on the quality? Personally i would get a genuine one.

Im 99.9% sure that is the fault - though dont blame me if its not!!

Please let us know the outcome :afro:

I will do and I'll ring the garage first thing see what they have say. But question is should I request for car back and yeah I know where the part is (am I correct in saying it the module on side of airbox) and I'll also be calling my local euro car parts

Yeah i would not let them work on my car after that advice!!

Yes get the car back and replace the part yourself - do it out side the garage all you need is a screwdriver

Yes its on the air box
