Hi all, i have got my first gti and I'm really pleased. It's been in the family since 2001 really good condition for its age and I want to keep it alive but I'm starting to get really vexed. It's got a misfire. The engine really isn't happy. It's been to a garage they read the engine because the light was on in the dash and they said secondary air pump. £500 vw want?. Hence I got a recon o e which was seen working and put it on. The plugs and leads all seem fine I was told. As a matter of course I've done the fuel and air filter. The may sensor was checked as well. Still a misfire, I've read somewhere to change the pre cat lambda sensor so I've ordered that and hopefully will fit it tomorrow if it arrives but if this doesn't help does anyone have any other ideas.
