Wheel Gallery?? just an idea...

Hi guys, don't know if this has been or can be done on here, but I've been browsing for some new wheels through search and trawling through loads of threads and posts.......

When I owned my Mini previous to my previous 2 cars , I was a member on a forum called MINI2, and on there they had a really good alloy wheel gallery, with pics of all different alloys and then a pic of a MINI with them on. Anyone think this would be a good idea for us??

A quick, rough example of how an e36coupe version may be ......

ACS Type 2.
Could have a pic of a wheel eg.

Then a pic of the BM with them on??


Don't know whether anyone else thinks this could be a good idea, but just a suggestion I was thinking of guys!! What you guys think ??

  sounds like a great idea, im toying with ideas of wheels to put on my mk1 (yay i finally got one)
i want to go retro, but im not sure which ones to go for!!!

alternatively put a request in the virtual mods and one of us will do it for you. Just don't expect immediate results cos we all have lives to live.

Just thought this would be a good idea to show which wheels are which and what they look like on respective cars..... ie i hear people talk about Borbet A's or BBS R-somethin's and have no idea what they look like, or what they'd look like on a golf......

Just thought it may be a very helpful guide and also prove invaluable to people when deciding what to spend their hard earned pennies on......

I dont know how you go about it but it sounds like a good idea to me.  The one on the mini site is cool.  There might be a problem with some of the older rims where a car mighty have them on, but there'll be no corresponding pic of them on their own, if you see what I mean.

Simplest way would be to have a new board inside 'chat vw' for wheels. Each topic is a wheel brand and type. Inside the topic you post pics of the wheels on various Golf's. Not that great for searching but certainly simple and something that everyone can contribute to. Any good?

either that or a child board in the cosmetics section with a wheel type as the topic and then as many examples can be added by other users. would probably need a bit of cleaning up now and then if too much crap gets posted though, which would detract from the simple style and ease of searching.

as mentioned above, think the easiest way would be to have a wheel section, then a seperate topic for each wheel type, then as many pics as poss posted up by users of their car with that wheel on it (could also post up where they bought them from and for how much?? as a xomparison sort of thing??)....

Not sure how best way to seperate mk1,2,3,4 and 5 though?? child boards in each model section, or just state on topic title which model for??
