Can't believe it's been nearly 2 years since getting the GTI - how time flies

Due to the current crisis and working from home for the last 3 weeks, I just haven't had the time to give it a good clean. It's actually been 6 weeks since the last wash (I know shameful), but last weekend with the good weather, I managed to give it a good bath and decontaimination with Autosmart Tardis, Iron-X, followed by a good mild clay.

Then applied Dodo Juice Lime prime with a DA, then two coats of Dodo Juice Purple Haze also with the DA. Pretty pleased with it overall, and the 19" alloys are still looking very smart with no white work or kerb damage at all.

Still waiting on my new pressure washer & foam gun so just had a couple of buckets to work with but seeing as the sun was out & I had a day off work it got a quick basic clean using poorboys super slick & suds pH neutral car wash & stoner invisible glass. Didn't travel anywhere for scenic photos so just have to crappy ones from my driveway. Also one from couple of days ago parked beside a colleagues Transporter camper.

Last monday I gave mine a wash followed by a light DA polish with Auto Glym SRP topped off with Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax. Rain we've had today has brought out some nice beading.

^^^ I love a nice beading shot, that looks good.

I've just rinsed the dust off of mine, again.  It's been seven weeks since I last filled up with fuel, the car has just been sitting under cover and doing a few short local journeys, so I have occasionally plugged my CTEK battery conditioner in to keep the battery topped up.

One day the madness will end.

Car has been with dealer the last 7 days getting paint correction & prepared for modesta ceramic coating which is due to start tomorrow. Took it out front of his garage this afternoon to inspect it in sunlight & I couldn’t believe it. Can’t wait to see how it looks when finished.
The wheels, callipers, inside wheel arches & front grille are ceramic coated just this morning. This guys attention to detail is crazy!

Actually that's good you say that as I'm thinking with things easing off I will see about going to the Post Office. They might be on their way to you quite soon!

Well, I had to try out my newly-installed electrical socket in my parking bay, so I got out my power washer and mixed up a fairly concentrated snow foam (Ultimate Finish's in-house stuff, they sent me a five-litre container of it, and due to having to faff about with extension leads in the past to use the power washer, it would have been a lifetime's supply).

I thought that I would try snow-foaming the car before I rinsed it.  I can't give a scientific analysis of the results, but the thicker foam "dwelt" well, and once rinsed away, I shampoo'd it with Gyeon Bathe+, rinsed and dried, then gave the upper surfaces a quick spritz with Gyeon QD, and the results are quite impressive.  The car becomes very dusty very quickly at he moment, hence the QD straight after drying.  The combination of Gyeon Bathe+ and Gyeon QD gives very satisfying beading whenever the car becomes wet.

No pics, sorry, because I didn't have my phone with me.  Next time, perhaps.
