old sony flip front XR-M510(I think). How to enter a code?

Just got new toy and it has a Sony head unit that is a flip down front one, it has a red button to the right that beeps when I push it and a reset button that beeps again but nothing.
It needs the code putting in but I can't get the front to open to enter the code.
So I have a black screen with, "Code In" written on it.
Any idea's? Am I just being really thick! :embarassed:

you have to enter the code using the remote
without the remote or the correct code you will not get it to work

Cheers mate, I'll have to try to get hold of a remote then, didn't get one with the car.

I haven't got the code, I was going to take it to a car audio place once I got the remote. Is there an easier way of finding out the code I need?

the code is made up of several combinations using the open/close source buttons etc it is not just a series of numbers

hi thanks for that, I finally got hold of a remote (good old ebay) before I spend £10 on a radio code does anyone know of any websites that I could get the code free?
