:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

1. broke a stud off the back of the heater box ripping a 1" square hole in the back of it. duck taped it up. this was done whilst forcing the box back into place with my foot.
2. broke one of the clip points connecting the heater box the fan housing
3. lost one of the clips holding the heater cables onto the heater box. dont know where this went, as it pinged off under pressure and went flying around the drivers footwell... i'm hoping it didnt end up going down the steering column boot . turned the steering wheel and no funny noises so here's hoping! i have used a *cough* cable tie which seems to be holding the cable sleeve tightly enough (for now)
4. that is as far as i got, nothing else is put back. no driving for me tomorrow.
5. i cant feel the ends of my fingers!
6. i seem to have pulled lts of muscles
7. the gf is annoyed as i asked her to help me out at 5pm... 3 hours later...  :lipsrsealed:

sodding car!

Dam dude you rushed to get it done on a day of rest! One nut and thread should be strong enough to hold that vent box for now. At least you can go to the breakers yards and get some new bits. If I break anything I'm screwed.
I don't understand why it didn't fit back properly? You have to angle it until both threads line up then with force push it and you can hear the threads scrap against the bulk holes. I bet you broke the top one?

I cut my hands on the matrix pipes getting them back on and ended up breaking the coil.... well it was broke anyways, but jaared it so much it was foobared!
Good on you for taking it on though matey! :lipsrsealed:

well i actually broke the bottom stud, tbh i was more worried about the cable clip (drivers side) which has now vanished. i'm hoping that the cable tie holds it firmly enough, it seems to do the trick anyhows.

theres only so much hanging upside-down inside the footwell one can puty up with in a day!

im just thinking of all the money i'm saving by doing it myself

sounds odd, it should look like this:

anyway, mine is all fitted, the dash is back in and i failed to break anything else... the matrix needs connecting to the water hoses and then we're done

Note for peeps when refitting......

When we did ours we found it usefull to remove the 2 x 9mm dash mounting screws either side of the front vents...

This made putting the front vent blower housing so much easier to get back into place.... After much swearing and trapped fingers etc...
