Title: Gt 140 tdi - annoying rattle

So, 12oo miles in and i am now getting a tad annoyed by a rattle that appears to be coming from the bulkhead area on the passenger side.


only happens on ideal or intial take up of load, blip the throttle and it goes .

any suggestions - its dark when i get home so tomorrow is investigation day  :angry:

Mine has a rattle and I think its coming from the trim insert above the glovebox. Once I put pressure on it the noise stops. Maybe have a look there.

For ages, I had a similar rattle/buzzing from around the A pillar/glove box/passenger door area, drove me nuts.  It was most apparent at around 1500 rpm, so initially thought it might be the wastegate rattle.  Manipulation and gentle pressure (pushing in/out) applied to the long piece of door trim (down side of glove box) remedied it, eventually.

The sunglasses storage in the roof can also result in a buzzing noise that sounds like it's coming from round there so maybe check that.  I also had creaky door seals which caused rattling but Krytox sorted them.

oh this is a full on mechanical rattle, which u can kee rattling by correct holdin go revs,- as soon as u increase them or take up load it goes  :huh:

Wastegate rattle??  Easily fixed with a small clip.  What revs do you hear it at?

idle, or just off idle when taking up load on the clutch,  :huh:

nah, same clutch in or out on idle .  :wink:

asked my old man to have a listen - what rattle  :lipsrsealed: :rolleyes:

Well its taken then 2 days, but VW have now found the rattle  :cool:

just going to take them 2 hours to rebuild the car and then i gotta go test drive it with the workshop manager and hand back this horrible polo  :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick:

Anybody help me with this? Noise which comes when I start to drive. can't be the turbo as it only happens when moving up off and stops after gear 3. Like a proper diesel growl! No performance been affected but I'm sure it doesn't sound healthy? It only started happening now last 50/60 miles

Was yours similar to this noise mate?
