Hi guys, i know this is the wrong forum but the seat ibiza forum is on its arse. and when i had my mk4 golf you guys helped me out alot ;)
so i have a mk3 2002 seat ibiza 1.9 TDI 110 ASV engine code.
The car has been playing up for months, going into limp mode, after researching this problem, many people said its the turbo veins sticking, and a cheap but affective fix is to use mr muscle oven cleaner on it, which i did do, and it worked for about a week untill it started going back into limp
anyway, before i got round to doing it again, it now seems the turbo has gone, there is no power whatso ever, and the car smoking like hell and has like a rattle coming from the engine, took it to garage they said its probably the turbo thats gone, but he hasent really checked anything apart from sqeezing a rubber pipe
so now the cars sat on my drive and i darnt drive it incase i make things worse
looking on ebay theres a company called nerings turbos, and they seem quite cheap, its a latvian based company, they want £230 and my turbo in replace for a reconditiond turbo, and theres a local turbo specialist that will refurb mine for about £350 , but if veins dont need changing itl be £280
im just stook on what to do, i rang seat and they quoted me £1136 for a new turbo :D i only paid £400 for the car but i actaully like it, as its been remapped to 130BHP its only little and light.
any help greatly appreciated

My brother has the exact same car and had the exact same problem a couple of years ago.
He sent his turbo to Midland turbos to be reconditioned and it's been sweet ever since.

Did he also have the tinny rattle? I was holding hope it wasnt nackered even tho i know it probably is. But also hoping nothing broken off the turbo has flow into intercooler or engine ; ( my car luck is extremely sh!t. ; (

No his was just constantly limp moding due to stuck vaines. If yours is rattling then no doubt the bearing have gone. Get it sorted before it does blow causing engine damage.

Mine was rattling, thought it was just one of those random car rattles. Oil seal blew a couple weeks later on the m6
