Induction kits that are street legal?
« on: 23 May 2016, 16:03 »
Hello. Running a stage 1 apr, really want to throw in an open air kit, to let the engine breathe better and for some nicer sounding throttle.

Problem is, i cant find any thing tuv approved on google (open air that is)
I did find some replacement filters for the box that was legal though.

It might sound a bit weird that i want such a simple mod to be approved.
but over here (norway) in a techical inspection, if you meet the right guy, or wrong guy to be more correct,
he will go full retard over it for not being approved for road use TUV.

So the best thing is to have tuv papers available, a DB test.  Then hopefully if those guys have a nice day, to get it noted into the registration.

It would be the best way to have it done. If not, i might end up wasting lots of cash, taking the kit off, and worst case scenario being called for a dyno test because they mean a open air filter are a "drastic illegal tune"

Its a great country for car enthusiasts. 11/10

TUV is not really relevant in the UK so you won't find much mention of it from UK suppliers.

Contact someone like Forge Motorsport to ask, I see they list one distributor in Norway:

Post your question on www.motor-talk.de - there are sections for all car models and there is an English section too, but I'd post in the model specific one as they are much more frequented.

The Germans are very anal about TÜV paperwork.... everything (almost) there needs that approval so it can legally be fitted to a car.
