Golf GTI MK6 Driver Airbag Removal!!

Hi guys,

I'm trying to install some new dsg paddles and am having a nightmare 'step 1' getting the airbag off.

I can get the screw driver in there wiggle it up and down but the bag is locked in. I've had three sessions at it and still can't get the fkr off. Any ideas? is there knack? I even popped to my local indep VW specialist at lunch and he couldn't do it. WTF!

Every time I wedge it in it just pulls the bag closer to the steering wheel.

Update - Managed to get it off. A friend had a look and said we needed a different tool to we made a wider one out of an old steel ruler and it popped straight off.

The screw driver I was using wasn't doing anything..
