Title: proud new owner just a few questions
Post by: andy223 on 23 August 2008, 20:22
Hi everyone,

Ive just put a deposit down on a silver 02 Golf 1.8T with 81k miles on the clock, FSH but the cambelts not been done nor the water pump it seems however tighteners were added at 70k?  :undecided: The previous owner was told by the garage the belt didnt need doing until 120k.

Anyway, to be safe than very sorry im going to get these done.

There are a surface few marks on the plastic bumpers and the odd one on the mirror casing where they have been caught against something, can anyone recommend a place where I can pick up a touch up pen to hide these nasty bits? Or is there a better way to sort these bits?

The car drives great and Im glad I decided on a Golf over a ST170 !

welcome

got any pics of the scrapes? might be able to get them machine polished out if not too deep

mirror casgin it might be cheaper to get it sprayed up - get both done at the same time

Indeed, it does look a goodf armrest though.  you coudl either get that, and try to source the mounting bracket etc from VW.  Or hold out until you spot an auction for the entire package.

I have the little first aid logo on my side cubby hole, but nothing inside it but the 6 CD changer, no triangle either.  I imagine the same side panel door was used, regardless of where the car was sold :)
