Title: Which lowering springs?
Post by: dieseldog on 15 March 2018, 12:04
Hello all, new to the forum. I want to put 30mm lowering springs into 2010 match. Planning to buy 18s soon.
I've been doing a lot of research but can't put my finger on the answer I need...

Eibach or H&R?? I want the car to be tight, but I don't want back issues etc! Any advice greatly appreciated.

I don’t own a Mk6 but I have had Eibach Pros on my previous car for 40k and my current Mk7 for 12k and has zero issues.

Did you have standard shocks/dampers?

The Eibach springs just edge it on comfort over the H&R springs.

I`ve used Eibach before and have always been happy with them

Did you have standard shocks/dampers?

I'm looking at lowering too and have DCC, does this mean I need special springs?

Thanks, Charlie.

Did you have standard shocks/dampers?

They are designed to work with standard shocks so I’ve never changed from stock.

so I've seen two variants of spring by eibach. the E10-85-022-02-22 and the E10-85-022-01-22. can someone clarify the difference? I have a mk6 2010 1.4tsi

Front spring load rating so you'll need to check your front axle weight.

so looked at my cars info sticker and front Axle weight is 0990kg and rear 0880kg

does that mean either E10-85-022-02-22 or E10-85-022-01-22 will work but with different rebound rates? excuse my ignorance but its a bit confusing for this newb

E10-85-022-02-22 is listed as front weight up to 1120kg, rear 940kg
E10-85-022-01-22 is listed as front weight up to 1010kg, rear 940kg
