Hi,
I've created a how to for changing a rocker cover gasket on Mk3 Golfs - in particular for the 1.8 engines. But it's similar on 2.0 and other 4 cylinders in the mk3 and other VAG cars of the same era.
So if you've never changed one, even if you have a 2.0 this should give you a good idea.
