Wheel storage bags
« on: 27 November 2020, 18:20 »
I am about to swap to winter wheels and I am going to store the Miltons (Parkers) I take off. I have looked at wheel bags and there are options. It’s not a big issue and they will be in a garage but can anyone recommend a particular type they have been pleased with?   :nerd:

I’ve got a set that are like the VW wheel storage bags. They’re very similar to the ones at the link below, although I’ve had them for a few years now, so mine were quite a bit cheaper than the ones at the link.

Do the Heyner bags take 18” rims with the tyres (225 x 40 aspect) fitted?  Thanks.

The Amazon ad. at the link posted says they’ll hold wheels+tyres with a max circumference of 2,100 mm. 18” wheels with 225/40 R18 tyres fitted have a circumference of approx 2,002 mm so they should be OK.

I know the VW version of those storage bags will take 18” wheels with 225/40 R18 tyres as I had the VW wheel bags when I stored my 18” diamond cut alloys off my mk6 Golf and those wheels had 225/40 tyres fitted. The VW storage bags look almost identical to the Hayner ones apart from the colour, and they’re slightly cheaper than the Heyner ones too, although with a bit of searching, you might find the Heyner version cheaper elsewhere.

I had looked at the Heyner’s  before and thought they were good. I have an Amazon voucher I was given as a gift and it seems like they will be fine. I’ll have a final look and then buy. Thanks you have answered my query about them fitting my wheels and tyres.

Today I ordered the Heyner Medium bags 14 - 18” from Amazon and hopefully they will fit my 18” Miltons with 225 x 40. They get good reviews and seem to be of decent quality.

Correction, postage is quite high as they are posted from Germany so not such a bargain, my apologies

These seem quite a good price if they are genuine

The price of the storage bags seems good value. The delivery charge of £21.49 is not so good though .

That’s why Heyner’s bags on Amazon with Prime delivery seemed better value. Be careful there’s a supplier for the same item who does charge delivery from Germany.
