Service Plan
« on: 21 June 2019, 11:33 »
Just booked my 2017 MK7.5 GTI in for its 2nd service, last one of the freebies.
Any advice on whether to get an extended service plan would be appreciated.
TIA

Personally I'm going to go to a local VW approved garage, rather than the dealerships. There's one near me that I've heard great things about, and from speaking to them on the phone about a remap, they sound like awesome guys that just love their VAG cars.

I always go for the dealers plan £485 for 2 services and 2 MOT's. Maybe not the cheapest but the service I receive is excellent, plus the convenience of a loan car

The service plan includes a loan car? First I've heard of this

I think he means it's convenient to just go to the dealers because they provide a free loan car, whereas an independent garage might not offer a free loan car service.

My local dealer do a free collect and return which is ideal as they're 20 miles away

I did another two years with my dealer, I pay about £20 a month for a minor and a major (40k) service. No free loan car but I do get a half price MoT. It was quite nice to go in for the major service and MoT and come out with a £27 bill. Even got the (boring) loancar free as I moaned about some stuff too.
