Right All,

Been a while since I had a MK1 so I thought id get back into it.

Recently accquired a 1982 Black 1800cc. One, yes one! owner from new. 74k FSH mostly VAG.

Car has been sitting garaged since late 1999. Only took a manual crank round to get some oil moving and a new battery to get it fired up.

I had it trailered back to me as didnt fancy driving it on the M25.

SO far I have been labouriously cleaning it up as it was totally filthy. Paintwork isnt A1 but is gradually getting there, interior is spotless with no wear anywhere!!!!!! Under the wheel arches its still that clean that you can see the original waxoyl stuff.

Currently trying to source a replacement wiper motor and sort the non working spots ou7t. After that I shall take it to MOT and see what happens.

Will take some photos tomorrw and post them up.

Right all is now sorted on the car. Wipers fixed (new motor) spots fixed (new relay) and oil light flashing fixed (new pressure switch)

Just awaiting the arrival of some new side stripes and the rear tailgate decal. Its got its MOT tomorrow so ill let you know how it gets on and include some pics.

Once its up and running im going to have to sell it so someone is going to get a real bargain, ill put it in the cars for sale section when its time.

Well it failed its MOT but only on the following:

Loose steering Gaitor (new jubilee clip)
Headlights out of alignment
Low effort on rear brakes
OSF brake pipe corroded

Ive left it with them to sort out .

Not bad for a car that hasnt been driven on the roads for 4 years!!!!
