Aftermarket or Stock?
« on: 16 September 2018, 15:55 »
Ok, so I put a post up a week or so a go saying my shock was leaking and still haven't made a decision on what I want to do.

I'm thinking with the car on 45k do I replace all four corners with the standard dampers or go down the aftermarket route and lose DCC?

Opinions please.

Are the rest of the dampers ok? Could just replace one corner if so. Save some money and keep the DCC.

Edit. Just seen your other post and seen the quote to replace. Aftermarket Eibachs it is then! :D

Would VW not do a goodwill gesture on replacing the shocks?

It'd be a shame to lose the benefits of DCC considering it's quite an expensive option.

I don't know the manufacturer of the DCC shocks fitted, but have you considered having them rebuilt by the shock service agent. I know Bilstein do this in the Uk for example.

I ended replacing the shocks myself. I'm not wasting my time dealing with VW, they're absolutely shocking (pardon the pun).
