Window problems
« on: 19 February 2012, 20:52 »
So I figure that electric windows are not the Mk3 Golfs strong point. A few months ago my passenger window stopped working, so I took off the door card checked all the connections and unexplainedly started working again. Move forward several months and the window has now given up the ghost. If I use either the driver or passenger switch nothing happens and the window stays stuck shut. There are no broken wires between the car and the door have checked. Taking the door card off I can here a whirring when one of the switches is pressed but not much else. Can't see how I can take the unit out as it is stuck shut and can't figure out a way to lower the glass so that I can un clamp it.

Am tempted to just leave it, but if anyone has any bright ideas might give them a go.

Thanks

Which cable - one of the shielded regulator cables? Or one of the cables in the runners?
