Recommend me a Dodo!
« on: 15 March 2010, 21:49 »
New car should be here next month (hopefully), and so i'm trying to decide which products i'm going for, always liked keeping the car clean but never really into detailing as such but since joining this forum and reading this section i'm up for giving it a go! And so back to the title!
I really fancy trying Dodo juice wax but with the car being steel grey i'm not sure which one to go for, i love the smell of bananas (no monkey jokes please!) but the banana one is for warm colours, i know it says on waxamomo that you can use any one on any colour but which hard wax will give best results on grey?
Also i've got some AG srp left so will use that for polish until it's gone, then what's a good polish for the amateur without a garage?
Definately going for jetseal 109 if i can get some!
Bit long winded i know but this is the best place to ask!

Is this one ok ?

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Kev... Classic
Dan, think i'd go for purple haze out of those two cos isn't the supernatural a bit steep for the beginner? will most likely go for that shampoo though, i've still got quite a bit of meguirs nxt left so i'll finish that first,
I fancy a wookie too!
So to sum up:
Dodo Born to be mild, Shampoo
Dodo Lime prime lite, Polish
Jetseal 109, Sealant
Dodo purple haze, Wax (all applied with foam applicators)
Bilberry, Wheel cleaner
Megs, Tyre gel
Wookie wash mit (any other sugestions?)

Which drying towel and buffing towels?
Any more suggestions greatly appreciated!

I use the born to be mild, it suds up great, lovely cleaner and smells fab! and the wookie mit is excellent. I also use the Dodo LPL which is good stuff. The MEgs Tyre Gel is great but I dont find it lasts very long, maybe its just this crappy weather.

i've been using AG tyre dressing and find the same with that, but as you said it's probably the weather.

Chemical Guys Tyre & Trim Gel ftw ... lasts in all weathers for AGES! I used to use Meguiars NXT Tyre gel, but Chemical Guys are better!

No worries, best part about the Chemical Guys, you can use it on all plastics aswell, and my trims look like theyve been SPRAYED black, thats how well it keeps them deep and black.
