I’m new to this forum and seem to have bought a headache, I’m used to restoring Cosworth’s and other classic fords, I drive an r32 mk5 as a daily and have now acquired a golf mk3 gti 8v as a project, it doesn’t run and hasn’t moved for 5yrs+ so I’ve taken on the task of restoring it lol.
Hopefully you lot can help along the way, The old previous owner thought it was an alarm/immobiliser fault but I think differently. Anyway here goes. Ive put new fuel in, reprogrammed the cobra alarm fob and it turns over fine, ive changed all the usual plugs dizzy and rotor arm etc, the crank sensor was shot so I’ve changed that to, there is a spark at the plugs but still not firing up, any ideas? As always I get the car running then the restoration can begin.
Any help much appreciated as I don’t have vagcom etc
