Big bumper custom C.A.I. using fog lamp shell - how to
« on: 06 November 2010, 21:28 »
Today i got busy making a custom cold air feed using the shell of a fog lamp, as neither of the fogs are wired in anyway.

The fog lamp:

Taking the projector out of the front casing:

Prised the tabs off to remove the projector lens:

Scraped the sealant off the projector back, to prise open tabs retaining the lens holder in place:

Cut the back off the projector shell:

Trial fit of 50mm cold air feed. Will extend to around double this length. It didnt hold with a jubilee clip as the projector shell is tapered, so superglue came into play:

Smashed the glass off the fog lamp front to reveal inner shell:

Painted projector shell and fog lamp front:

Clipped back together:

Installed:

The extendible CAI will run up through the chassis leg and into your aribox/cone filter  :afro:

I don't think a semi will give the same results

you could use a bigger diameter pipe straight onto the back of the fog light front section (on the right in this image)

i.e. no need to modify the projector unit. might be able to get a 65mm/70mm pipe around it, although its square
