Aerial problems
« on: 11 May 2015, 12:42 »
hi there,

This is probably incredibly stupid but it's really starting to annoy me...

I've bought a polo aerial to replace the standard one, it should just screw into the base, right?

However, I cannot for the life of me get the old aerial off! I've got the actual aerial off but it has left a piece of metal in the base with some sort of nut at the bottom. I thought ok, will just unscrew it but it just goes round and round and is obviously loose but it won't come out! I've twisted, pulled, smashed it, you name it. But it won't come out so I can get the new one in.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong??

I surely can't be the only person who's come across this problem?

Give people a chance to reply.....its the middle of the day when people are in work

And before you ask I can't help as I never had the problem; my old aerial simply unscrewed and I put the new one on

I'm not sure, but doesn't that remain in the base and the new aerial (with female fitting) go onto that stud?
