Fitting a 4 point harness
« on: 08 April 2008, 16:10 »
Hi guys,

I'm after some advice re fitting my drivers side 4 point harness, I've got a 2 door MK2. The cars all stripped out so fitting will be easy.

I plan to use the existing point for the right lower (door side). Not sure where to place the left lower, was planning to place it close to the seat fixed on the slop of the transmission tunnel just below the hand break cables?

Also anyone got any pics of positions of the upper shoulder fixings behind the seat, how far behind the seat? Straight in line shoulder holes in the seat? Can you fit both straps to a single "O" bolts dead centre behind the seat?

Many thanks,

J

i know its not technically correct but the 4 pointers in our last golf were used as 3 pointers and both shoulder straps went ito one mount.

as for the drivers harness, the new golf has a mount on the seat base, old one we balted in where the stalk for the seatbelt was. i cant remember all the ins and outs but i remember it being a pain in the ass
