Ah, I was thinking it was somewhere near the tank at the back!

https://www.deutsche-parts.co.uk/fuel-cap--1k0201550al-new-genuine-part.html

Cheaper on ebay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Audi-VW-Seat-Skoda-Petrol-Fuel-Filler-Cap-1K0-201-550-AF-Brand-New-/224105781982

But don't know the difference between AL and AF

Also, I have no idea how the strap attaches, I thought it was a plastic pin holding it in, so when I tried to remove this pin I basically split the plastic top that was holding the strap. No idea how to properly remove the old cap strap.

Thanks, I have found me bluetooth dongle, just need to download torque light and scan.

I will ask the garage on my next visit, that will be next year based on my current mileage, its probably a new black surround at hundreds of pounds.

Update; found my cheapo bluetooth reader and installed Torque lite.

Scan for logged faults and historical faults but the app says nothing stored in ECU?

I think the app is working OK, it displays air temp, water temp etc.

On the subject of replacing my filler cap above, I plan to use Sugru glue to stick the retaining strap back on, not elegant but it will do for now.

Its useful stuff, for indoor fixes and things you touch, use the children/safe version.

I plan to add a blob of this stuff to the top of the pin in the hope it sticks and the holds the strap
