It has the ACU gold sticker and I race in MSA rules. You can use the helmet for anything. Only the mirror visor is not road legal.
Why do you say that?
Ok, on second glance, its not even legal for karting, only for motorbikes. I say that because of the following taken from the MSA blue book:
(a) INTERNATIONAL EVENTS & ALL MSA EVENTS.
FIA 8860-2004.
SNELL SA2010.
SNELL SA2005.
SNELL SA2000*.
SNELL SAH2010.
SFI Foundation 31.1A, 31.2A.
BS 6658 Type A/FR**.
*May be withdrawn with effect from 01/01/15.
**May be withdrawn with effect from 01/01/16.
(b) In addition the following are acceptable for:
International and MSA National Kart Racing Events
(with exception of International Kart Drivers under 15
years of age and Cadet/Bambino Drivers*):
• SNELL K98 and K2005
• SNELL K2010
• SNELL – FIA CMR2007
• SNELL – FIA CMS2007
International Kart Drivers under 15 years of age and
Cadet/Bambino Drivers. The weight of the helmet
may be checked at any time during an event and
must not weigh more than 1,550g:
• SNELL – FIA CMR2007
• SNELL – FIA CMS2007
*From 1st January 2011 all Cadet drivers require
the Snell – FIA CMR2007/CMS2007 helmet
standard.
From 1st January 2013 all National Kart Drivers
under 15 years of age will require the Snell - FIA
CMR2007/CMS2007 helmet standard.
Note: Snell standards can be verified by either a self
adhesive label or a cloth label. The self adhesive label
has a silvered background and the cloth label
The ACU sticker is only valid for bike racing. I knew because I'm looking for a helmet at the moment for some sprints and hillclimbs
. Your new helmet is legal for cars (Snell 2005).
