clutch issues
« on: 22 April 2013, 21:41 »
I was out driving, and suddenly i couldn't change gear. had to get a tow home. Its as if the clutch isnt playing ball.

Do you think I would need to replace the entire clutch, or could it be the release bearing?

are there any ways in which I could establish what needs to be done without having to take it to a garage?

I took a look on another forum, and it seems pretty straightforward to replace the thrust bearing itself(as long as it hasn't gone critical mass and is in a million bits).

I have a mk1 golf gti sportline, which I love to drive and can't :(

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.
