Mk2 Campaign (one in 10 million) golf gti spec and info

i may have just bought one of these but in unsure. There isnt the correct service schedule BUT the schedule i have is a replacement one i think. There isnt the correct amount of info or stickers at the front and the servicing starts at 48k ish. Its a 1988 black (but it looks like a really dark grey and its identified as both black and grey through the receipts & MOTs) 8v with the rainbow interior. It all looks genuine. Its only had 3 owners inc the guy i bought it from. I know things can change over the years but the wear on the car all looks even.

When exactly were these for sale and what exact specs were they? Theres loads of cars that think they are campaigns, but the earlly mk2 campaign was the 10 million cars. Can i find out from the chassis number?

I have one too mate LP9V swartz metallic also came in helios blue and oak green.
I believe they were the only golf pre 90 to have rainbow interior,forged 14"le castellet wheels as standard.

any idea of numbers or release dates? The one i bought for the girlfriend is registered on 01/01/88. Did yours have a leather steering wheel too? ill get a pic of the spec sticker in the boot too

Mine didnt but it has one now,i think it depends what extras u wanted when ordering one from new.
No sure about release numbers but they only came out in 88,mines was 1st registered in april 88(i have the original bill of sale)still with original panels/paint and gen 87k

the one ive bought is 125k and looks pretty standard apart from the bbs wheels and magnex exhaust and aftermarket tinted lights. Inside the boot is more mint then ive ever sen before. The sticker will tell me the spec. Does anyone have codes for the specs?
