Right let me start off by saying that this IS the route i am going, regardless i know people will say get a 1.8t and sell the 2.0, well no, simple reason, i like the 2.0 its solid and has SOME potential!

And the fact that the Mrs wants a TT next year :S

So at castle combe i was describing that a american company called Kinetics do a Turbo kit for the 2.0 snails, (American engines are AEG for the mk4 and ABA for the mk3)

With a  few other mods i can easy get 200 out of this sucker (zorst, cat, 2mm head gastket etc..)

The only downside is if i want high boost i need to change my clutch but i think mine is on its way out anyways so not a problem.

and the fact that Nick at R-Tech is gonna be a busy man giving me a custom remap

Here is a list of people that have done the upgrade being it self sourced or self build or even the kit from kinetics. Alot of good info and data on Vortex forums for this project.

I have already got the delivery sorted due to a nice block at RAF fairford who is going to get his family to GIFT it over her :D

This is on the cards for XMAS.

Definatly mate, im really looking forward to getting my teeth into this. while the engine is being worked on im gonna tidy up the bay some, so its nice and shiney

I have spoken to Kinetics today and they said that i will get a cut price due to not using there software ideal as im sure the custom remap is gonna cost me some

Im sure if i had the fabrication skills that i could source the bits and do this my self, but i dont so...

The thing is, its out there, the good old yanks are adventurouse and try these things.

a bit of research is all thats needed.

Yes people are right by saying 1.8t is the better option for tuning and performance.

if like me you want to keep the strong engine of the 2.snail then i think its worth throwing the money at it.
