Fitted my newly re trimmed steering wheel.

Just need to retrofit my mk7.5 rear lights and loom when it’s not raining.

The steering wheel looks superb.
Is it much thicker than standard?
I always feel the mk7 ‘wheel is a bit thin. The Mk5 GTI item was perfect in my eyes.

After my bonnet issues I now have a puncture. Brill.

Oh gawd! I’d be ranting after a run of luck like that

Tip of the iceberg. In the last 6 months I’ve had 4 punctures and two new rear bumpers. Thought my luck would change when I moved back to VW. The sympathy is appreciated though!

Could I ask a favour?

Where did you buy the lights and loom from and cost?
Also could you take a few photos of when you are fitting for reference please.

Love the steering wheel btw.

I got the lights from Redditch Volkswagen. They were selling a genuine retrofit kit for a 7.5 for £400 as obsolete stock write off. Loom was from carsystems.eu and cost 180 euro. Comes with full instructions and coding info.

Wheel does feel thicker but that could just be the material. They will make the wheel thicker if you request it.

A quick wash and tidy up today. Managed to avoid the rain but I suspect it won't be too long

Unlike king monkey's bonnet damage, think I avoided a dent... Only just though!

Not had a clean for about 4 weeks or so then this lands on it...

Living by the sea, seagulls are an ever present hazard! Equally bad in one place, like Jim’s, or evenly spread, which can splatter half the roof. Today’s fragile paint means you have to get it off as soon as. Unless it’s wash day, I just soak it off with a really wet microfibre cloth.
