Foam between liner and wing ?
« on: 18 September 2019, 22:22 »
Hi

Just read a post on PistonHeads that the mk7 has foam between the wheel arch lining and wing like the mk5 had that had the major rust issue .
Is this true ?

The one on the Mk5 was the same as the B5-5.5 Passat. It was stuck to the inside of the wheelarch in the 12 0 clock position to stop the arch liner rattling on diesel engined models. This held water and rusted the wheel arches from the inside. When the paint started to blister, it was way too late.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
