Sad day yesterday my trusty old steed (company car) got collected by the lease company & shes off to auction.
 Had 3 great years owning her, hope shes gets an enthusiast owner like me, will be a great buy for someone.

My R be going down same path in less than a month - Think there is a site where you can track auctions by number plate, sure seen someone post it before, as like you be interested to see where lands

When I spoke to the dealer the other day in MK, he stated mine likely go to local auction and it be on their forecourt soon after so imagine prices are keen in auction.

Did not enquire about price from my lease, but from what understand there is no haggling and price they provide is not the best which seems quite strange as they know the auction price likely to get and surely best to really tempt the present user?

If my replacement TCR has a good three years mechanically and I do not miss the R I might be tempted to purchase given its relative rarity but it will be head over heart decision.

I did think about buying it but went with the M4 in the end Golf is nice, has  few nice options.

I think I could just about cope with the grief of losing my GTI if my boss gave me an M4 comp as compensation! I really should’ve studied harder at school!

Blimey, I couldn't even get a GTI on my company lease scheme itself - not about my ability to pay, its just too much CO2.... let alone that M4!

The only way I can actually choose is to take the money and do it myself.

Guess it depends if your company has an overall CO2 target (not just from fleet).

Change in circumstances means im taking an allowance from work and using the mrs diesel for long work journeys.

My GTI is a company car but looking at options to buy my own next year when mine goes back as tax is getting a bit daft now.
