find a local VW specialist and take it to them to set it up. should only cost you about £25-30

check back of Performance VW and Golf+ magazines to find local vw specialists

25-30 ? sounds quite cheap, anyone wouldn't happen to recommend a cheap honest VW mech round Londonish way? i don't mind traveling a bit for a good one , im located in Dartford,Erith,Belvedere Kinda area if that helps

Oil wise? wats choice ppl go with on here? was gonna order some today, u guys use Fully Syn?Semi?thin?thick?Mobil?Silicone?

Use genuine oil filters and VW's Synta Silver oil. You can't go wrong with that combination. Bit cheaper from GSF than at the stealers aswell.

I pressume thats simply semi syn? ok , i though most ppl on here would use high performance oils? or are these not really suited to cars of this age? they need thicker stuff ?

Yep, Semi Synthetic. When I first used it the engine ran quieter and smoother. It's the best stuff for the older engines

You'll spot it easy enough towards the back of the sump

Did you buy this from some guy in Southampton? My dad was going to go down and take a look at it for me, but it had been sold by the time he rang up.

I got one in the end though. :)
