MK2 grill and headlights on MK3?
« on: 23 September 2009, 23:46 »
basically after reading the downunder thread, i wondered how about you would go about fitting mk2 headlights and grill to a mk3.
obviously i need the mk2 lights (not a problem as there is a scrappy down the road with loads of mk2's in it) and probably an adapter to fit the lights onto the mk3 wiring.
i thought that the mk2 grill would be too short in width so might try to chopping it in half then and add a few extensions and plastic welding it back together to make it wider and then clip it to the front somehow.
Anyone got any forseeable problems in doing this?

p.s. did do a search on here and google and nothing came up.

think it would be more original that doin a vento front end and ill probably learn a few things along the way, will pick up lights and a couple of grills tommorro to get started.

any advice welcomed

I would imagine a Vento bonnet would be required as it's straight instead of curved like the MK3s. But can't see the whole job being too easy, hopefully you'll do it though and defo have a one of a kind MK3 :)

This one looks the nuts! Even has BBS RXs by the looks of it, and looking closely, you can tell the headlights are projectors and looks very similar to the outer lamps of the smoked Hella Quins

the top red one is what i wanna do, i reckon if i use my spare mk3 grill and mate it with the mk2 one it could work the only tricky bit i reckon wiill be finding how to keep the headlights in place  :undecided: really need to wait until morning so i can have a proper look at it and see what i can do! may even have to start a project thread

That red one looks to me like the front of the wings has been altered where the grill meets it  :undecided:

'93 2.0l 16v Corrado - gone (and missed)
