Only reason MK4 beats MK3 is Bcos MK4 looks sooo much better, other wise their just as bad as eash other..

Completely agree with you.

The cabrio is not a GTI and really doesn't pretend to be.

And the Mk1 GTI is the definitive GTI that sketched out a whole era; the car industry mimicked; and punters bought in the millions.

To put a 25y/o icon in the same list as the BMW Mk4 Golf is unkind to say the least.

??course they've had their time. they are over 20 years old. but it doesn't mean they deserve to be in a list of the worst.

this thread is a little weird. we all love our GTI's, even the owners of the Seat Mk3 Golf GLs. Who are losing at the moment.

How can any one say a classic car like the MK1, has had it's time!! Its the fore-father of modern hot-hatches, and deserves the recognition. (does that sound a bit too passionate? maybe I'm biased)

I agree Adam. Staot you is wrong, you dont hear people saying Picasso has had his time and is dated, lets compare him to Damien Hurst????????
