My experience suggests that while the contis might perform best, they last only about two thirds of the distance vs Michelins. Personally I can't afford that.

On the other hand, essentially pretty much anything wins over the OEM BS's except on wear, where the damned things are crap forever.

I was wondering about life, my P-Zeros have just gone over 18k with a bit more life in them, on last check they were at 3.5 and 4.5mm so will change them before winter. If I can get the same again from Michelins then they might be worth the extra £120 a set with the additional benefits of performance and comfort. I'd be disappointed if I only got 12k from a set of tyres, especially at £600

Can't comment on PS4, but PS4S are very noticeably quieter than Conti 5Ps so if Conti 6 are the same as 5Ps in the noise stakes, then they will be noisier than PS4S.

I had Conti 5 on my Mk7, and think the Conti 6 is quiter.

But as i said, maybe the PS4S is better... I buy them next time if it´s the way..

If the Conti 6's are quieter then they'll likely be on a par noise wise with the PS4S.

Think all the tires in this size are noisy . But you are satisfied with the performace of the PS4S?..

Wide, yes, to degree 19's can be noisy but some are moreso than others. Same with the hardness of the ride.

I've only had the PS4S on since Friday but have done a fair few miles now on varying roads to test them out, and they are so far proving to be superior to the Conti 5Ps on all levels, and that's saying something because I rate 5Ps highly.  The PS4S are  - quieter, less harsh and more comfortable ride even with DCC in Sport, better at absorbing rough/potholed roads, better grip, exemplary braking.  They've yet to be driven in the wet and it will be exciting to see how they fare through winter (do not use winter tyres in my location).  More extensive thoughts on the PS4S (so far) in my thread here.

Tramping, as discussed above is not an issue on the 4WD  R, as is more prevalent on front wheel drive cars and a poor tyre can really exacerbate the issue.

I know a few with Conti 6 on their R's and they are very pleased with them.

I have Conti 5 on the Mk7, and i agree with your comments. But i think the tires will last long. Have done 40 000km and they can do many more miles..

But think the Conti 6 is on another level

I have 2 people that have new R here in Sweden, they both have problem with Tramping on them. So they have changed the dogbone, and it is a new car according to them..

Is it really true, according to my tire company. So, the PS4 has a lot of poorer durability with a little better grip. Much smoother rubber. But he may be wrong.

Glad you are liking the Conti 6.   Do you run the Conti 5Ps just through the warmer months?  Presume winter tyres required in Sweden?  Tyre life will come down to a variety of factors.  I've known some get as little as 4K and 8k miles out of a set of fronts.

Interesting about the tramping on the R, first instances I've heard of.  What tyres were they running?

Yes we have to use real wintertires in Sweden. I have these in 17" between Nov to Mars....

Interesting watch 👍. I loved the continentals that came from the factory on my 2013 gtd but again a lot of people dismissed them. So it's either conti 6 or Michelin sport 4s come tyre change time.

I Choice the Conti 6 because of the road noice on the 4s. They are similar in prize and performance ..

But next time i will try the 4S!
