Do they still have to do an assessment to deem it repairable or not when it goes in?
That's some real nasty damage to the body..

About 5 years ago I had a slight knock to the rear bumper of a Mk 7 GTD which only cracked the bumper, it cost £1300 to have a new bumper fitted. I think that your repair may be shockingly expensive.

They have done an initial assessment, but they didn’t open the boot in case it would not shut again ,so said they’d add to the assessment once collected.

I opened the boot myself this afternoon....it did close again.

I know I shouldn't laugh Dave but that pic of the back of your car in the daylight reminds me of the Grumpy Cat

In 1990, (I know, that’s a shockingly long time ago, for some) I bought a brand new Orion Ghia i. I had it 12 days and 1100 miles when it was stolen and crashed. It was debatable if it would be written off. I removed a tow bar, for a bike rack I had fitted and that was enough to increase the % cost of the damage, to have it written off. I was glad, I did not want it fixed and returned. What’s your thoughts? Might this happen?

I think it will be repaired, not really what I want as it may take a while to source parts etc.

If they tell me it’s written off .....I could get a new one in days.

Well a mate of mine was one of the first to get a UK Nissan GT-R when they came out, he drove it home from the dealer, which was about 4 miles, went on a dual carriageway, pulled out onto the fast lane didn't look properly and side swiped a van, hit front wheel, mirror and front wheel arch and was £5000 damage
