Git exhaust

Well i bought a new full system coz i had 2 for mot, i thought easy, what could go wrong? fitted the new cat ok, then the back box, then the centre, all ok then went to fit the connector pipe and its about 6 inches short :angry: wtf

Am i missing somthing or what??

yh you are most likely missing the adaptor sleeve that connects the cat to the middle pipe.

you can get them from vw not sure where else, maybe gsf.

Does the old exhaust have the sleeve? you could take it off that.

gsf do them it's listed as "short pipe" 60.5 mm same part for 8 and 16v and vr6 costs £9.10 plus vat the part number is 280VG0040

the connector pipe is where the 8v exhaust shrinks..so if you have an 8v exhaust you'll need the 8v pipe (and vice versa)...try any timax/bosal dealer there only about £8-10
