ECU wire identification
« on: 11 January 2012, 21:32 »
Ive never done anything like this before so need some help, I know how to splice the wires but I dont understand how to workout which wire is which. I need the rpm signal and the throttle postion sensor. From the wiring diagram I think thats TS sensor B147 and the rpm B33??

VW AGU WIRING COLOURS

NO:30# is battery +: (which is the 12v constantly fed from the fuse box )
NO:15# is ignition switch-ignition on: remains on when cranking (power required at coil during starting and running)
X#X# supplies power to the lights etc with the key on, but off when cranking, i.e. when cranking power is cut to the lights, allowing more current to be supplied to the starter.

So how do I work out which wires which from this by the ecu?

Any help would be really appreciated on how you work this out.

Cheers Jon

look closely at the ecu plug the pins are numbered in the corners

B33 is the sender on the gearbox for the speedo, not an rpm signal.

Arh, nice one that makes sense I missed that. So which is the rpm then?

Another thought this is for my electronic boost controller so what are the wires going into the N75, would they be the rpm and TS?

Pin 62 is your throttle position sensor, but you should need to touch this if putting into a new car?

but you should need to touch this if putting into a new car?

What do you mean mate?

Anyone know where I could find this info?

Chris, what program is that you're using?

Thanks
