When is week 25? Mid June?

GofTi: Was yours ordered on the 3rd? I wonder how much bearing colour has on build time. I suppose it depends upon how many active paint shops the Wolfsburg plant (assuming GTI/GTDs are being built there as opposed to the Belgian plant). If some paint shops are in rotation for colour (requiring full cleandowns between campaigns of a certain colour) then it could delay things a week or 2. I would expect dedicated paint shops for White and a few of the most common/popular colours.

The amazing Wolfsburg factory can make 2000 cars a day.
A few GTIs... no bother.

DSG might be delayed a bit ( look at the links on the tracker page).

Colour - I saw at least 10 different colours when I visited, it's not an issue.


BTW- all golfs are built in Wolfsburg except for the USA market.

Hope the build date for the rest of us is going to be around week 25.  I originally had Week 20. 

However if configurations like paint colour etc, do have an effect on build dates, I will be later than some of you.  I have Oryx White configured on my car.  I don't think there is a high turnover for Oryx White spray jobs at the factory, due to the price. 

Hope I hear from my VW Dealer soon with a better, more realistic date than the last one of Week 34/35.

GolfTi: Have they finally closed the Belgian plant then, or maybe they don't make enough (given the current economic climate) to need 2 plants making the Golf? Those lucky yanks - Seen the price they pay for GTIs? $25k (£16k) and metallic paint is a free option! Theirs are made in Mexico, so labour is obviously cheaper, but even so, i'm sure Mexican VW metallic paint doesn't cost any less than ours.

My Dad is getting DSG, perhaps his will be a bit behind mine, although I did ask the question when ordering his and the dealer reckoned there was no current DSG delay.
