Time for a update!
Just been removing bits and bibs over the last few days tbh
Removed the passenger and driver air bags
drilled out the rivets to remove the rear speaker plates. going to leave that tiny bit of sound deadening as its really thin compared to the other stuff and dont want to get it to hot due to paintwork on the other side!
Removed all the sound deadening from the back!
I have also cleaned up all the residue but didn't get a photo.
I then decided I was going to remove the sound deadening behind the dash and also remove the unwanted wiring including the airbag and rear speaker wiring and I am also going to reroute the wiring for the handbrake switch, fuel filler and alarm disable button.
what it looked like when i remember to take a photo...
I got as much as the sound deadening as I could without further stipping. and i took all the wiring back until I hit big bundles of wire and then cut and heat shrinked all the ends.
I have also being doing some more weighing!
so up to now we have got....
Front seats were 22kg each (which I think are lighter then the recaros
Back seats
Parcel shelf
Spare wheel
Some sound proofing (not all of it)
And a few bits of crap (2kg)
All added upto 45kg
few bits of trim including carpet - 10kg
stuff from rear side panels and handbrake cover - 2kg
Passenger airbag and control unit - 4kg
rear sound deadening - 5kg
wiring and dash sound deadening - 6kg
so up to now i have saved 116kg
There is still loads of bits in the boot that I need to sell and the headlining etc but i will keep track of it all and when i'm done weight the car using the weighbridge at work!
Next up is reseal the drain plugs with new silicone
and try think of some more things I can do before I buy the rollcage which i will be ordering this month
O yes i also got this
but that is going to wait untill my shifter platform is finished which i cant do untill i have dropped my shifter which includes dropping the exhaust and heatshield
