19's on a mk4?
« on: 22 June 2002, 13:34 »
Hi,

Has anybody fitted 19" alloys to their mk4? Do they fit easily and what does it make the handling like?

I have got 18's on mine with 225/40's.

They look wicked  ;D and don't catch the arches at all.

I guess for 19's you could use 225/35's. Best to check with someone like Elite. http://www.elitedirect.com

I've just got hold of a GTi T, Mk4, and am about to replace the alloys with something new  ;)

1. Wanted to check - you said 18"s fit with no 'catching' or mods to the arches? Is that the case?

2. Opened to the floor - what's hot in the way of aloys at the mo? Whats ya fave??

Thanks guys...

Phil.

Hi Phil,

18's defo go on without problem. Just get the correct offset and tyre size. Any good alloy dealer will be able to confirm.

Ace 132's do it for me. Really suit the mk4. I think there is a pic in the past events section somewhere. It is a black mk4 and the 132's have loads of spokes and a polished edge.

Just wanted to say thanks for the messages... pick up the new 18"s next Tuesday :->

Went for some kinda standardish looking 5 spokes in the end from Team Dynamics, but they should do me.

The car's Indigo Blue, so went for some "titanium look", to reduce contrast with the darker body colour.

Anyhow - thanks again guys.

Phil.
