now all the Sony users have cottoned on that the old Minoltas work.

Not strictly true.
While the fitting is the same, not all Minolta fit lenses will work with Sony cameras. It's to do with the electronics and whether the lenses and camera body can communicate all the right information.
This did interest me as I already have a Minolta Dynax film SLR, so getting a Sony camera that could share lenses would be good.
But apparently it's a bit hit and miss.

You're generally ok as long as the Minolta lens uses the old A mount, and has AF.

I know, can't wait to try out some long exposure shots and landscape pictures. Done a few test shots and love the results so far.

Though I would add some of mine to this, these were taken on my mobile camera so are not great but I am pretty pleased with the way they turned out. Any comments more than welcome, I did photography in college and occasionally do some for work so I can take it!
