I've kept very quiet on the Kev issue too but he's really getting under my skin. His obsessive attitude towards the mk5.5 is one thing but the swearing and abuse is quite another on a public forum. I know he keeps saying it's all in jest and a wind up but it's petty and juvenile(sp) and bringing the section down. This is by far the most lively and interesting mk6 Golf based forum I've found but there is one person bringing it down. I'm not sure how well this section is moderated but if I was wearing the hat round here there would be one less member allowed to log in!!!
Deep breath......

I thought not as there's no 'report post' button I could find.
It's a shame it needs moderation but unfortunately it does.

Mk7 due to be shown in 2 years.
I hope it is lighter and smaller than the current model (as VW have hinted).

I buy cars when there is something really interesting and different from my existing car (the DSG gearbox this time).  A MK7 GTI petrol/electric would be good.  If Honda's next Civic Type R is released as a hybrid (Honda is adding electric to all it's four pot engines in time) then I would be very keen.

I would never buy a car just to slightly update the one I've got, that's just dull.

Mk7 is at least four years away... I don't where you get your 2011 date from

I read it in Autocar.  The model year for the Mk 7 is expected to be 2012, with first showing in 2011.

Currently digging a bunker.

I don't know Kev and am new to the forum but it does seem like he has a tight spring and plenty of you regulars know how to wind it up, so it's easy to see why he bites.

Let's all take a deep breath and get to the horsepower shall we?

There's over 18,719 members on this board to my rekoning, and there's about 8 or 9 trolls that are regulars in the 'we hate kev' clique. I get on fine with over 18,700 other people. I have as much right to be in this forum as the next member. I'll leave when I'm told my time is up.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.
