20011.6 petrol immobiliser issues
« on: 29 March 2020, 10:51 »
It's been a while since I posted about this but I've finally gotten the car onto a scanner. Cutting a long story short whenever the car has been run and gotten hot it's fine until it's turned off. Leave it for 20 minutes and all it will do is turn over and over when you try and start it, eventually after a good 10 minutes or stop/start cranking and flooring/pumping the throttle it splutters to life. It went on the scanner and came up with

"17978 engine start blocked by immobiliser P1570 intermittent"

A quick Google said to disconnect the battery and touch terminals together and that should sort it, or the battery needs changing (it is the wrong size for the car but even when being jumped off it makes no difference) others say it's a wiring issue but there's no obvious damage I can see with a quick glance and there's an awful lot of wiring to be looking at.

I've also noticed it seems to be breathing really heavily and that seems to increase the time it takes to start, if I pull off the air box it seems to strike up easier but that could just be me.
