1.8 8v gti ???

This might sound a bit crazy but im about to start my project tomorow starting with taking the original engine out . ill be selling the engine to fund parts that ill need  but when i come to list the engine for sale do i list it as a gti ?? how can i tell if it isa gti  by looking at the engine?? any pointers would be good guys . thanx

Which one does it look like? first pic is a GTI, second one is not.

That would mean it is a 1.1 or 1.3

well thats totally threw me its on the logbook as a 1.8  ill get the engine code today if that will  tell ?

It will help but if it is 100% the 2nd picture it can not be a 1.8

Be interesting to see the car and engine if you can get some pics up.. also, if possible, see if you can get the engine code on here too.

bottom one looks to be a 1,3 , same engine was in mine

got the engine out today only took 3 and half hours  i dont know where to look for the engine code its not in the same place as a mk4  i took lots of pictures aswell but dont knoiw how to upload them to here erm if you pm me your email address ill forward them
