Gear linkage adjustment
« on: 25 June 2012, 13:05 »
I've just been changing all the bushes etc in the linkage of my 8v, and the time is fast approaching to put it all back together.

I've bought the alignment tool that goes on the gear stick, but I'm unsure where and what I should be adjusting. The rod that goes under the car has been has been completely out, as has the stick, so where would be a good place to start?

Cheers

On the end of the rod there is a clamping bolt, slacken this then stick the alignment plate on the gearstick then carefully tighten the bolt back up with out moving the rod or shift linkages.

On mine i set the clamp bolt so my gear stick sat central then i selected first gear, loosened the adjusted and then tightened once i found the right spot where i could get every gear smoothly
